Man shot dead by RIT in Ecija

CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – A man was gunned down on Wednesday by two unidentified suspects on a motorcycle in Purok 1, Barangay Bakal II, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

The Talavera police said the victim, 62, was a canteen owner and resident of Bgy. Bakal II.

Talavera police chief Maj. Domingo Resma said the victim was standing inside his eatery store when the riding-in-tandem (RIT) suspects on board a plateless motorcycle arrived and, without any apparent reason, shot the victim twice, hitting the latter’s head, then fled towards the south direction of the town.

Meanwhile, in Balanga, Bataan, a victim with the alias “Babsi,” 39, a caretaker and resident of Bgy. Cupang Proper, Balanga City, was shot to death by two unidentified male suspects.

According to Balanga police commander Lt. Col. Sonia Alvarez, the victim’s live-in partner told probers that the victim was outside repairing their electric generator when the two suspects appeared and shot the victim several times, causing his instantaneous death. The suspects fled on foot after the incident.

Police are now conducting follow-up operations to identify the suspects and the motive behind the attack.
