Man shoots wife dead over debt
A WOMAN who failed to collect payment for debt was allegedly shot dead by her husband inskde their home in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte.
Sarrat Police Station chief Maj. Carlo Abing identified the victim as Rizalyn Aquino, a resident of Bgy. 23, Sarrat town.
The suspect was identified as Rizalyn’s husband, Jesus.
Prior to the shooting, Jesus instructed his wife to collect payment from someone who owed them money.
The wife returned home without the payment collection, earning the ire of her husband.
The couple had a heated argument until Jesus suddenly pulled out a gun and shot his wife.
Jesus, who realized what he had done to his wife, rushed Rizalyn to the hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment.
Responding lawmen arrested Jesus, who admitted to police he was drunk when he shot his wife.
Charges of parricide and violation of Republic Act 10591 or illegal possession of firearms and ammunition were filed against the suspect.
