Man shoots rival dead in Laguna
A JEALOUS man on Saturday night went to the house of his rival and shot him dead in Calamba City, Laguna.
The suspect was later on killed by an angry mob while resisting arrest.
Laguna provincial director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio identified the victim as Roilan Mendes Ilao and the suspect as Randy Contreras Perez.
Ilao’s live-in partner, Marites Sulit, was unscathed.
Police said Perez and Sulit were formerly partners.
An investigation showed an envious Perez barged inside the house of Ilao and shot the victim who was then sleeping with Sulit at Purok 1, Bgy. Wawa, Calamba City around 11 p.m. on Saturday.
Ilao succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
“Dating kinakasama ng babae ang suspect na posibleng matindi ang selos sa biktima,” said the investigator.
The suspect was about to escape when cornered by responding barangay police security officers and an angry mob. He was rushed to JP Rizal Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Ramoncito Lopez.
