Man murdered while resting at terrace
A 49-YEAR-OLD tricycle driver was shot dead in the head at close range by still unknown assailants Thursday night at the veranda of his home in Tanauan City, Batangas.
P/Lt Col Ariel B. Azurinn, Tanauan City Police chief, identified the victim as Ricarte Mazo, married, a native of Negros Occidental and resident of Bgy. Boot.
A barangay official of Purok 2, in Bgy. Boot reported that the shooting incident occurred at 8:50 p.m. on November 18.
Case officers P/SSg Tommy Piscoso, P/Cpls Jhune Carlo M. Coballes, and Leo Arnie S. Leycano immediately proceeded to the crime scene.
The suspects left the victim slumped lifeless on the floor and escaped om board a motorcycle.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) technicians led by P/Lt. Camile C. Manansala recovered a deformed fired bullet for an unknown caliber and a fired cartridge casing for cal. 9mm.
