A 45-YEAR-OLD man allegedly dumped by his overseas Filipino worker wife on Wednesday night butchered their two minor daughters in their home in Baras, Catanduanes.
The victims, aged 8 and 9, of Bgy. Western Poblacion, Baras town, succumbed to multiple stab wounds.
The suspect was their own father identified only as alias “Rol.”
Town police chief Capt. Mark Barlis said the mother of the victims sought police’ assistance after seeing her husband trying to slash his wrist during a video call at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The wife allegedly ended her relationship with her husband. that earned the suspect’s ire.
Disgruntled Rol turned his anger to his two daughters and stabbed them several times.
Baris, after receiving the report, immediately dispatched a team to the house of the victims and found the two girls bloodied and lifeless.
Alias “Rol” tried to attack responding policemen with a knife but was shot in the leg.
Double parricide charges are being readied for filing against the killer dad.
