LLANERA, Nueva Ecija — A 44-year-old resident of this town engaged in the buy-and-sell of “bote-bakal” and other scrap materials caught the last ride to the cemetery after he was shot dead at home on All Saints’ Day.

Police head Major Romualdo Lopez identified the fatality as Alberto Francisco, a junkshop owner, of Purok 4, Bgy. Inanama, this municipality.

Francisco was shot twice in the face and chest, killing him on the spot.

Lopez said the victim was sleeping, with his two kids aged 11 and 7, when two unidentified armed men barged in their house and shot him repeatedly at 2:30 a.m. yesterday.

The riding-in-tandem suspects escaped on a motorcycle towards the direction of Rizal town.

Police are clueless about the motive for the killing.
