Man burns down heavy equipment in Gapan City

GAPAN CITY — A man barged into a farm still under construction here and set on fire a heavy equipment before firing his gun to warn workers to immediately vacate the place on Saturday, it was reported.

City police head Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito said the suspected arson occurred at the Zentosia Farm in Sitio Bibit, Bgy. Macabaklay at 5 p.m.

Burned down was a cement mixer owned by Johnny De Leon, 55, contractor, of Bgy. Care, Tarlac City.

Desamito said they are still conducting hot pursuit operations against the suspect, identified as alias Anding Suarez, who fled after the incident.

Investigation showed the suspect allegedly barged into farm then burned the victim’s cement mixer.

After spotting several workers at the farm, the suspect reportedly fired two successive shots in the air, warning them to leave immediately.

“Umalis na kayo dito, ayokong may makita na tao pa dito,” he allegedly shouted.

Desamito said her men and the Bureau of Fire Protection are jointly probing the incident.
