PLT. COL. Alex DJ Alberto, station commander of Kamuning Police Station (PS 10), identified the suspect as Danny Fernandez, 46, resident of Brgy. Roxas District, Quezon City, and the stepfather of the 14-year-old minor and victim.

Initial report shows that while the victim was asleep at around 2:00 a.m. of January 30, 2022, she was awakened upon sensing that someone was touching her breast and doing lascivious acts therewith.

Upon recognition of the suspect’s identity, the victim struggled to free herself from the suspect but the latter continued his lewd designs against the victim.

Despite the victim’s begging, the suspect forcibly removed the former’s undergarment and pursued his sexual desires.

Thereafter, upon having the chance, the victim grabbed her cellphone and immediately narrated the incident via Messenger to a certain Vincent Pidernal, the victim’s uncle.

Subsequently, the victim with her aunt, Melanie Pidernal, proceeded to PS 10 and reported the matter. After getting the facts of the case, PS 10 personnel immediately arrested the suspect, where the victim positively identified as the person who raped her.

The suspect will be charged for violation of R.A. 8353 or the Anti-Rape Law in relation to R.A. 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

“The QCPD guarantees that justice will be served to those who were oppressed by the criminal intents of others. This is true especially to those who are considered as the most vulnerable persons in the society like women and minors,” PBGen. Yarra Said.

Meanwhile, PMGen. Vicente D. Danao Jr, the Regional Director of NCRPO, expressed his congratulations to the QCPD for their swift response that resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspect.
