MALABON City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval on Friday led the launching of the city government’s two new features and online registration for the Malabon Ahon Blue Card (MABC) program to make more services accessible to the Malabuenos.

The mayor shared that one of the two new features of the MABC is the “Eskwela Savings Program para sa Kinabukasan” which ensure all Grade 1 school children in the city, especially those from low-income families will have access to financial resources and support to pursue quality education by reducing educational disparities and fostering long-term economic resilience.

She added that through this feature, the city aims to address challenges such as an increased number of school dropouts, low-income households, and a lack of resources that limit children’s ability to fully participate in academic activities and achieve their full potential.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Office head Ms. Catherine Larracas explained that the new MABC feature aims to initially provide aid to 7,000 Grade 1 learners from private and public schools in the city.

She said that beneficiaries’ households must be members of the MABC program in order to receive P1,000 cash savings deposit and an ATM card.

Meanwhile, MEAL also launched the 5-day Online Registration for residents who want to be members of the MABC program. Malabuenos can register through a link posted on the Malabon Ahon Blue Card Facebook page and must prepare a valid ID, preferably their voter’s ID, that indicates that they are true residents of Malabon

In July 2024, the city government launched the MABC Burial and Hospitalization Assistance which provided P5,000 financial aid to beneficiaries for their hospital expenses and the burial of their deceased loved ones.

City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete said that more programs under the MABC will be launched for the benefit of all Malabuenos.
