The City Engineering Department said that it made significant progress on the construction of the 11-storey Libertad 1 mid-rise housing project (Building B) on Sisa Ext., Barangay Tinajeros. The project will soon provide about 88 housing units to Malabuenos.
It said that as of Dec. 26, 2024, it completed bored pile works and the project is now in its steelwork phase where the installation of steel columns on the first eight floors is ongoing and the installation of other equipment and other materials on-site and cabling are currently being conducted in the area.
In October last year, the City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD) launched the city’s Socialized Housing Application where over 18,000 Malabueños pre-registered online signifying their interest to apply. As of Dec. 31, the CHUDD received 911 applications with supporting documents.
A help desk that assists Malabuenos regarding the documents required for their application was also placed in the lobby of city hall.
Meanwhile, City Administrator and City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD) concurrent head Dr. Alexander Rosete shared that since the creation of the CHUDD in 2023, it has actively identified, monitored, and inspected lands owned by the city government for more housing and lot allocation programs.
