Operatives of District Special Operation Unit of Northern Police District (DSOU-NPD) led by P/Maj. Melito Pabon served the warrant of arrest issued by Malabon Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Catherine Therese M. Tagle-Salvador of Branch 73 for the crime of robbery with physical injuries against Rodinito Nuguit, 32, at around 6:30 p.m. in his rented house at Block 9, Bgy. Longos – a few blocks away from his former residence at Pampano Street.

Records showed that on November 7, 2021, at 12 noon, while the victim Christian Jay Bandol was driving a pedicab on his way to buy food when Nuguit suddenly appeared and forcibly took the victim’s cellular phone worth P7,500 at the corner of Block 9 and Hito St., Bgy Longos.

The victim tried to resist and while they scuffled for possession of the mobile phone, the suspect drew an icepick and stabbed the victim in his back several times.

Bystanders who witnessed the commotion tried to intervene which prompted the suspect to escape while the victim was rushed by responding barangay watchmen to Tondo Medical Center for medical treatment.

Elements of Malabon Police immediately conducted a follow-up operation for the arrest of the suspect but he was nowhere to be found which prompted homicide investigators P/SSgt. Ernie Baroy and P/SSgt. Mardelio Osting to file a case against him.
