Mabalacat LGU gives local police new firearms

MABALACAT City, Pampanga — The local police in this city on Wednesday received 10 brand new firearms from Mayor Crisostomo Garbo.

Garbo turned over the 10 brand new units of 5.56 firearms worth P1.2 million to city police commander Lt. Col. Soledad Elefanio, with the aim of beefing up the city’s peace and order and anti-crime operations.

The purchase of the new firearms, under the city’s Public Safety, Peace and Order program, was in close coordination with the local government unit led by Garbo and chief administrator Atty. Emmanuel Ignacio, and Central Luzon police deputy regional director for administration Brig. Gen. Narciso Domingo, Pampanga police director Col. Arnold Thomas Ibay and Elefanio.

Ibay said the 10 new firearms will serve as augmentation and extension of the city PNP’s modernization program.
