Ma, son die in Las Piñas fire

A MOTHER and her 12-year-old son died while three others were injured in a fire that hit their house before dawn Thursday in Las Piñas City.

Las Pinas Fire Station Arson Investigator SFO2 Rodel Agduyeng said the charred bodies of Angelita Supilanas, 44, and her son Dargie Supilanas, were pulled out by firefighters from the rubble of their burned house while room occupants Dolly Omega, 27, Reginal Algarme, 16, who both sustained 1st degree burn, and Niño Bautista, 28, who had laceration on his right foot were rushed to the nearest hospital where they underwent medical treatment.

In his report to Las Piñas City Fire Director Supt. Christopher Angot, Agduyeng said the fire of still undetermined origin broke out around 2:44 a.m. from the room being occupied by Dolly Omega at the house owned by Supilinas located on 55 Leo St., Aristocrat Village, Talon.

Five families or a total of 16 individuals who were tenants of Supilinas managed to get out before the house engulfed in flames.

No other house was affected by the fire when it was declared under control at first alarm at around 3:37 a.m. before it was finally put out at around 4:02 a.m.

Arson probers are still conducting investigation to determine the cause of the fire that destroyed more or less P100,000.00 worth of property.
