Lucena mayor awards houses to 21 families

LUCENA CITY — Twenty one families from the urban poor sector have benefited from the low- cost housing project of the city government and National Housing Authority (NHA) under its Resettlement Assistance Program for Local Government Units.

The blessing and awarding of the house units to the families belonging to urban poor settlers along National Irrigation Administration (NIA) project site was led on Saturday by City Mayor Roderick ‘Dondon’ Alcala at Don Victorville, in Bgy. Silangan Mayao, this city along with NHA representatives and other City Government officials.

Each unit has a length of 20 square meter and its monthly amortization will be P499.

Alcala said the processing of documents was shouldered by City Urban Poor Affairs Division under sa Miled Ibias.

The 21 units were part of the housing project with a total number of 79 units for the urban poor settlers.

Meanwhile, the construction of other units intended for city government employees who do not yet owned houses is in progress.
