TOP officials of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) met with various transport groups and other stakeholders for a dialogue regarding the implementation of a policy on the need to inform the agency about any sale, donation or transfer of ownership of motor vehicles with existing registration.

LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the dialogue is aimed at coming up with appropriate measures on how the LTO Administrative Order VDM 2024-46 would be implemented in ways that are acceptable to the motor vehicle owners.

The AO sets the guidelines for the sale, donation and transfer of ownership of motor vehicles with existing registration to beef up the measures against unregistered motor vehicles and double entries in the LTO records.

“Under the guidance of our DOTr Secretary Jaime J. Bautista, we want to hear all the concerns of the motor vehicle owners before this policy is implemented,” Mendoza said.’

“Our goal is to ensure that we come up with the best way to implement this policy na hindi naman magiging agrabyado ang mga concerned vehicle owners. Ang gusto natin ay maging inclusive ang regulasyon,” he added.

The consultation was held on Monday presided over by Mendoza was attended by LTO Executive Director Greg Pua and leaders and members of transport groups and various stakeholders, including Angkas CEO George Royeca.
