LAND Transportation Office (LTO) chief Asst. Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said that the looming shortage of security paper used in the printing of certificates of registration for motor vehicles has been resolved.

According to Mendoza, the agency received yesterday a number of security papers with the help of no less than Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista.

The LTO chief did not mention the volume of the papers on hand but said it was sufficient to cover the motor vehicle registration and other transactions for a few months.

Preparations, he added, started as early as August this year after monitoring a possible shortage of the needed items.

“Nagpalabas na agad tayo noon ng guideline bilang sagot sa looming shortage ng security paper. Tayo ay nagpapasalamat at hindi na lumala ang problema because of the delivery of the security paper we need,” Assec Mendoza stressed.

The LTO was forced to print the certificate of registration for some of its clients due to the shortage.

With the delivery, Assec Mendoza said he will issue another memorandum for the scheduling of the printing of the bond-paper printed certificate of registration and other documents.

The security paper is expected to be delivered to the LTO regional offices next week.
