RESPONDING to the directives of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade to bring services of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) closer to the people, the LTO has expanded its reach with the establishment of 112 offices nationwide.

The LTO reported that the agency has created 23 new LTO District Offices (DOs), 42 new Extension Offices (EOs), and 47 new Driver’s License Renewal Offices (DLROs) since the expansion started in 2016.

Tugade said that as a result of this expansion, motorists and vehicle owners can save on time and expenses and expect a more efficient, fast, and reliable government service from the LTO office nearest them.

This is a huge step to expand the LTO’s services nationwide as the agency only created 20 DOs, EOs, and DLROs from 2012 to 2016.

The newly-established offices will help reach and address the public’s driver’s license applications, vehicle registrations, and other land transport-related needs, LTO Chief and Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante explained.

He added that the DLROs are open on Saturdays to attend to those who cannot make it on weekdays.

LTO District Offices are created by laws passed by Congress which are funded by the national budget for their manpower and operations, while LTO Extension Offices operate under the District Offices to further widen their reach.

The DLROs meanwhile are placed in high-traffic locations such as malls and commercial centers to help the public in the renewal of their driver’s licenses.

The complete list of the LTO offices, its addresses and contact information, can be accessed at www.lto.gov.ph and on its official Facebook page (Land Transportation Office – Philippines).
