THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) welcomes the efforts of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to intensify its crackdown against vehicles without plate numbers and those with improvised plates.

The LTO strictly adheres to the implementation of Section 5 of Republic Act 4136 in relation to Joint Administrative Order No. 2014-01, which imposes a fine of P10,000, including a P2,000 penalty for reckless driving when caught driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

LTO views PNP’s efforts as a “great help” in implementing the provisions of the said law.

Earlier, PNP Chief Rodolfo Azurin Jr. ordered the strict implementation of a “no registration, no travel policy”.
