LTFRB verifies viral video of ‘airport meter rate’
THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is now checking the authenticity of a viral video of an “airport meter rate” shown to a tourist by a taxi driver.
According to LTFRB Spokesperson Celine Pialago, the LTFRB will conduct a probe into the circumstances surrounding the alleged airport meter rate provided to the tourist.
“We take such matters seriously and are committed to ensuring the integrity and fairness of taxi services.
Our priority is to uphold the standards of service and protect the rights of passengers,” she said in a statement.
Pialago said LTFRB Chairperson Teofilo Guadiz III is encouraging individuals who may have additional information or have experienced similar incidents to come forward and share their accounts.
The LTFRB chief is assuring the public that appropriate measures will be taken based on the findings of the investigation to uphold the accountability of taxi operators and drivers, she said.
“Chair Guadiz assures the public that the LTFRB remains dedicated to addressing any violations promptly and implementing necessary actions to maintain the quality of public transportation services,” the spokesperson said.
“The LTFRB remains committed to fostering a safe, reliable and fair transportation environment for all passengers,” she added.
