Pero bago pa man ang “The Price is Right” ay 20 taon siyang naging host ng kanyang kauna-unahang game show on TV, ang “Truth or Consequences” in 1956 hanggang 1976.

Twenty years ding naging paboritong host si Bob ng Miss USA at Miss Universe pageants simula 1967 hanggang 1987 making him the longest serving host ng mga ito.

Taong 1943 when she joined the United States Naval Reserve during the World War II to train as fighter pilot. Gayunman, hindi siya nag-serve sa combat.

He met his wife, Dorothy Jo Gideon when he was in high school who became his girlfriend when he was 15. Sumakabilang-buhay ang kanyang wife nung 1981 at age 56 sa lung cancer but he did not remarry since then at wala rin silang anak. They were together for 35 years. The late TV host had his longtime girlfriend na si Nancy Burnet na siya niyang kasama until his death.

While attending college, he took a part-time job bilang DJ sa KTTS-FM radio in Springfield. Nagtapos siya ng Economics sa Drury College, now Druy University.

From Springfield, he and his wife Dorothy moved to Lake North Beach, Florida kung saan siya naging news editor and announcer sa WWPG 1340 AM radio in Palm Beach and in 1950 ay lumipat sila ng California, USA to advance his career in broadcasting at doon nagsimula ang kanyang sariling radio show na “The Bob Barker Show” na tumagal ng anim na taon.

Kasunod na rito ang “The Price is Right” nung September 4, 1972. Ang naturang program ang siyang tumatak nang husto hindi lamang sa Amerika kundi maging sa iba’t ibang bansa including the Philippines.

It was on October 31, 2006 nang kanyang i-announce ang retirement sa programa nung June 2007. He taped his final show on June 6, 2007 and the show was aired twice.

Pagkatapos ng kanyang retirement, tatlong beses pa siyang bumalik sa “The Price is Right”as guest. Una nung April 16, 2009 to promote his autobiography, “Priceless Memories”. Pangalawa nung December 12, 2013 on his 90th birthday at pangatlo nung April 1, 2015.
