Louise1LOUISE De Los Reyes played supporting roles in her last screen outings, the TV series “Encounter” and the movie “Housemaid”. Now, she is back to playing a starring title role in Vivamax sexy domestic drama, “The Wife”, streaming on February 11. This is written and directed by Denise O’Hara, a niece of the late filmmaker Mario O’Hara.

“I enjoyed my role as ‘The Wife’, ang bigat at na-stretch talaga ang emotions ko kasi halos lahat ng eksena, very demanding,” she says. “But I gave it my all, my 100 percent. Thankful ako na si direk Denise helped me. Iba ‘yung style niya sa pagdidirek, e. She really leads you sa kung anong gusto niyang mangyari, sa gusto niyang lumabas sa eksena. Magaan katrabaho si Direk Denise. We shot the film on location in Baguio at lagi kaming maaga natatapos.”

In the story, she is married to Diego Loyzaga, who has an affair with his old friend, played by Cara Gonzales. Discovering her husband’s philandering really crushed her.

“I’m grateful na very supportive din lahat ng kaeksena ko in every scene. When I saw the trailer pa lang, naiyak na ako. I was so touched sa mga eksena namin. Iba ang rapport namin ni Diego as mag-asawa to show our love for each other. Si Cara naman, parang hindi newbie. May nahuhugot din ako sa kanya mga eksena namin.”

She has love scenes with Diego and it’s different from any love scene she’s done before. “First time ko to be directed by a female director in a love scene. Nag-usap muna kaming mabuti ni Direk Denise and I saw her perspective as a female director in doing sensitive scenes. I became comfortable with her, also with her director of photography si Miss Lee Meily. Pareho silang very nanay.

Aalagaan ka nila, paaalisin nila lahat ng taong hindi kailangan sa set. Very efficient sila, para makuha nyo agad ang eksena sa isang go, isang take lang. When I saw the love scenes, maganda naman lumabas. Sobrang happy ako and thankful sa pag-aalaga nila sa akin.”
