DEPUTY Speaker and Antique Rep. Loren Legarda is running for Senate again.

In a television interview, Legarda said she is eyeing a comeback in the Senate in 2022 national elections.

“Yes I confirm that I intend to go back to my 2nd home, which is the Senate and I have already consulted the political leaders and the people of Antique,” Legarda said.

According to Legarda, being a Senator is her calling and she plans to continue pursuing important bills on environment protection and others.

“There’s an urgent need for me to continue the unfinished task of legislation as a Senator and I believe that I can bring national government programs closer to the people of Antique,” she added.

Legarda has served the Senate for 12 years and is currently the representative of the Lone District of Antique.

In the latest Pulse Asia survey she ranked 6th as Filipino’s preferred senatorial candidate for the next elections.

A former media practitioner and news anchor, Legarda is a member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).
