A 71-YEAR-OLD farmer and a woman were killed, and a student was injured after a driver hacked them inside a house in Bgy. Molinete, Laurel, Batangas the other day.

According to case investigators PSMS Michael P. Mercado and Pat. Romer Herrera of Laurel Municipal Police Station (MPS), the two slain victims were identified as Jovencio Magsino and Rodela Cajila, of legal age, jobless, and a 15-year-old girl, all residents of Bgy. Molinete, Laurel.

Based on the initial investigation, the suspect suddenly arrived at the victim’s house and, without apparent reason, hacked all the victims using a ‘bolo’, resulting in the farmer’s instant death.

The remaining victims were rushed by residents to Dr. Ernesto Malabanan Memorial Hospital, in Laurel, for medical treatment and lately transferred to Global Medical Center in Talisay town, but unfortunately, Cajila was declared “dead on arrival” by the attending physician at about 8:30 p.m.

The suspect was arrested and recovered the bolo measuring 54 cm. in the mountainous area of Bgy. As-Is, Laurel.
