Live-in couple, welder collared for illegal drugs

TWO live-in partners and a 35-year-sold welder were nabbed in two separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by Calamba City Police and Liliw Municipal Police Station on Monday and Tuesday morning.

Police Acting Provincial Director PCol. Rogarth Bulalacao reported to CALABARZON Regional Director PBGen. Eliseo DC Cruz said the three arrested drug suspects were part of anti-illegal drug operations in the province.

Calamba City Police Station under the direct supervision of PLTCol. Arnel Pagulayan, said the suspects arrested are Jose Avelino Lacanlale, 51, and his partner Imelda Lacanlale, 48, both residents of Bgy. 3, Calamba City, Laguna.

Both of them have sold illegal drugs to a police officer who acted as a poseur buyer in exchange for 500 pesos used as buy-bust money at Lazaro Compound, Bgy. 3, Calamba City, Laguna on 4:58 p.m. Monday.

A preventive search led to the confiscation of four pieces of plastic sachet suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 2 grams with a street value of P13,600.00, 1 piece coin purse, and recovered five hundred peso bill used as buy-bust money.

In Liliw Municipal Police Station under the direct supervision of PLT Amado Jose Basilio Jr., they have arrested Melvin Villamor, 35, a welder, of Bgy. 1B, San Pablo City, Laguna, who was also captured through a buy-bust operation at Barangay Culoy, Liliw, Laguna on 1:20 a.m. yesterday.

A subsequent search led to the confiscation of two pieces of a small plastic sachet of shabu, three pieces of 100 peso bills suspected drug money, one piece of brown leather coin purse, and recovered 500 pesos used as buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects will be charged for Violation of R.A 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, while the seized pieces of evidence will be submitted to the Crime Laboratory Office for forensic examination.
