Let lolos, lolas enjoy their cash gifts — Poe
SENATOR Grace Poe on Sunday stressed that the government should consider reviewing the processes on Centernarian Act to make them less cumbersome and more accommodating to the elderly, who are naturally constrained by age and resources.
“Our centenarian lolos and lolas passing away without receiving their cash gift is beyond bearing,” Poe said.
The senator said the Department of Social Welfare and Development must also constantly coordinate with local government units to keep an updated list of persons nearing their 100th year to ensure availability of funds for claims.
The law pays homage to the life and longevity of our beloved centenarians amid the deaths besetting our country due to the pandemic.
“We must honor them for striving to remain as pillars of their families and source of wisdom of our communities,” Poe stressed.
