THE Kalye Mensahe team of presidential frontrunner Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. has been harassed and threatened with harm by Bicol-based terrorists belonging to the New People’s Army (NPA) who were openly campaigning and supporting Leni Robredo in Barcelona, Sorsogon on Tuesday (April 19).

One ‘alias Doods” the provincial coordinator of the BBM camp narrated in his after- incident report that the incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. at Barcelona Public Market.

The Kalye Mensahe is a form of campaigning by the Marcos camp where an LED truck containing video footage of BBM’s messages are being shown especially in far-flung areas, for the people to get a better understanding of his programs and platforms of government.

As effective as the medium is, it is seen by Leni’s camp as a threat to her candidacy, which prompted her armed NPA supporters to threaten and harass the LED truck operators.

In his narration, Doods said the BBM LED truck left Sorsogon City at 8:00 a.m.and arrived in downtown Barcelona at 9:00 a.m.

They were even able to conduct the recorida  going around town before settling in a designated area approved by the local government where they conducted “film showing” to the delight of the crowd who gathered to watch the film.

Marcos’ campaign materials and collaterals were also distributed even as the viewers responded positively to the messages brought by the Kalye Mensahe LED truck.

However, at approximately 3:00 p.m., while the truck was parked near the market, an unidentified man who introduced himself as a member of the NPA and supporter of Leni, ordered them to stop the film showing and move the truck away from the area.

When he tried to resist, the suspect pointed to three other men standing nearby and told him that they could kill him and his companion and burn the vehicle if they would insist on staying in the area.

Fearing for their lives , Doods and his team decided to leave the area before seeking help from nearby Army station who later escorted them going back to Sorsogon City.
