“Life has to go on.”
“Last year, October, my husband and I went through health/medical difficulties. ’Yun ang ibinigay na trial sa amin last year. It was August when my husband had a heart attack so I had to rush him to a hospital and he had a triple bypass (operation),” simula ni Lani.
After the surgery, noong October ay na-diagnose naman silang mag-asawa na may bacterial meningitis.
“I guess, all of us naman talaga were praying, we’ve been praying to God that, you know, somehow, He would spare us from this dreadful disease na COVID and our loved ones, hindi ba?
“Hindi nga kami nabigyan ng COVID pero it was something else. It was the bacterial meningitis,” patuloy niya.
“Ako, nagkaroon ng kaunting improvement but my right ear is deaf. ’Yung nare-receive niyang whatever sound na papasok sa right ear ko was all just scratches,” she narrated.
“It’s so difficult to listen to sounds,” aniya.
“And since may imbalance sa hearing namin, meron na rin kaming problem sa equilibrium namin. Hanggang ngayon, nahihilo kami. Kaya ’yung nodding of my head, hindi ko masyadong nagagawa dahil talagang nakakahilo.”
But it’s still difficult. It really took a toll on my emotional health as well,” saad niya.
“But you know, just like everybody is saying, we have to go on, our lives have to go on. And that’s what I’m trying to do now,” aniya.
Bagama’t pumasok sa isip niya na mag-quit na sa pagkanta, after a while ay na-realize niya na hindi ito dapat makapigil sa kanya para gawin ang bagay na gusto niyang gawin.
“It’s not going to stop me from doing what I love to do, which is you know, singing. There may be some struggles here and there but you know, just like I said, I want my life to go on, I want to be normal again, I want to feel the usual vibrant and energetic Lani,” sey niya.
