Laguna PNPs weeklong anti-criminality operations net 142 suspects
KAMPO HENERAL PACIANO RIZAL – A total of 142 suspects were arrested during the one week anti-criminality operations of the Laguna police, acting provincial police office director Col. Gauvin Mel Unos said yesterday.
The intensified campaign against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, operation against most wanted persons and loose firearms throughout the province of Laguna were conducted from September 9 – 15, 2024.
Unos said that in the campaign against illegal drugs, the Laguna PNP conducted 37 operations that resulted in the arrest of 50 suspects.
Confiscated from the suspects were 167.76 grams of suspected shabu and 0.9 grams of marijuana, with a total value estimated at P1,140,876.
In the anti-illegal gambling operations, eight were conducted against illegal number games or bookies which resulted in the arrest of eight suspects.
Twenty-two operations for other forms of illegal gambling resulted in the capture of 22 people involved in other forms of gambling.
Bet money worth P19,015 was seized from the suspects.
In the manhunt operations against wanted felons, 11 most wanted persons were arrested, four of them at the Regional Level, three at the Provincial Level and four at the City/Municipal Level while 45 other wanted persons were also arrested.
As for the operation against loose firearms, the Laguna PNP recorded six operations and confiscated nine loose firearms while six suspects were arrested.
The “Oplan: Sita” operation for violaltors of the traffic law have arrested 232 people while 7,498 individuals were caught for violating the local ordinance.
“The anti-criminality operations of the Laguna PNP continues to grow stronger with the help and support of our community. Lagunenses can hope that the Laguna police will prevent and suppress criminality to attain peace and order towards the development of the province,” Unos said.
