Lacuna tasks MSC to lead preps for Palarong Pambansa
MANILA Mayor Honey Lacuna directed the Manila Sports Council (MSC) on Sunday to lead the city’s preparations for this year’s Palarog Pambansa as she expressed her warm birthday wishes to Olympian double gold medalist Carlos Edriel Yulo.
The mayor said the MSC should seek Palarong Pambansa inputs from Yulo and EJ Obiena, both Manileño Olympians, their coaches, and their national sports associations and consult with the Manila Division of City Schools, the Manila Health Department, the City Social Welfare Department, and the Barangay Bureau.
The MSC, the mayor said, will also enjoin chambers of commerce and colleges and universities to help them. The council will also prepare for the first Carlos Yulo Day on August 4 by forming a multisectoral committee to draft the commemoration details.
“Our goal is to produce more Olympians and national athletes like Caloy Yulo and EJ Obiena. Daig ng maagap ang masipag, kaya ngayon pa lang dapat may mga paghahanda na,” Lacuna said.
