SENATOR Panfilo Lacson on Thursday refused to give any comment on the declaration of candidacy of Vice President Leni Robredo for the highest position.

Lacson said, he and Senate President Vicente Sotto III have agreed that they will rise on their own merits, and not to comment on our political rivals in the May 2022 elections.

“We will focus only on presenting ourselves and our competencies to the electorate in an effort to get elected based on our own strengths, and not on the deficiencies of the others,” Lacson said.

“We will raise the level of discourse of the campaign and deal with issues rather than personalities. We intend to keep it that way, even as we encourage our supporters to follow our lead,” he added.

Robrero announced her Presidential bid a day before the filing of Certificates of Candidacy ended.

“Ngayon sasabak tayo sa mas malaking laban. Panata ko ngayon ibubuhos ko nang buong-buo ang aking lakas, hindi lang hanggang sa halalan kundi hanggang sa natitirang araw ko para ipaglaban ang Piliipinas, ang ating mga pangarap,” Robredo said.

“Ipaglalaban ko kayo hanggang dulo. Itataya ko ang lahat,” she added.
