Laborer nabbed for gun, ammo in Cuenca

A 43-YEAR-OLD construction worker was arrested for guns and ammo after implementing a search warrant in his residence in Barangay San Felipe, Cuenca, Batangas, last weekend.

Cuenca Municipal Police Station (MPS) top cop P/Major Ernie Bilog Delos Santos, Jr. said the suspect is a laborer and a resident of the said barangay.

Cuenca MPS personnel led by Delos Santos and Bgy. Kagawad Gil V. Guce served a search warrant around 6:50 a.m. on January 29 in the suspect’s residence.

After searching, police recovered one Armscor caliber 38 revolver and four live pieces of ammunition for caliber 38 inside the cylinder and marked bullets placed inside a plastic ziplock with markings and a black sling bag.

Meanwhile, a rider, of Bgy. Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, died after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a tree on the side of the road.

The back rider sustained injuries and was under medical treatment at the hospital was a resident of Bgy. San Isidro, Taysan, Batangas.

The incident occurred along the provincial road of Bgy. Mabayabas, Taysan, Batangas at 8:10 p.m. on Jan. 29 while driving a Kawasaki Fury.

The victims were rushed to the hospital, but the motorcycle rider was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician Dr. Rodolfo A. Aquino.
