MORE or less 255 grams of shabu concealed in an antique French phone was seized by authorities following the arrest of a woman and a Korean national in a controlled delivery operation Monday afternoon in Makati City.

Joint operatives of Makati Police Sub-Station-6, NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency National Capital Region (PDEA-NCR) arrested the Korean national and a Filipina after they received the parcel containing illegal drugs worth P1,734,000 at around 5:30 p.m. from an operative in front of a coffee shop at a Makati condominium.

Report reaching the office of Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/Brigadier Gen. Kirby John Kraft showed that the parcel, which was declared an “antique French phone,” was shipped by “Bleu Griotte” of Marceau Leandres in France and was consigned to the Filipina suspect.

However, during the examination, it was revealed that aside from an antique French phone, the package contained 255 grams of shabu in a transparent plastic pouch wrapped with foil.

Authorities also confiscated from the arrested suspects a blue clipboard, parcel receipt, copy of an invoice, two ID photos, three cellphones, and four Master Cards.

Charges for violation of Section 1114 of RA (Republic Act) 10863, also known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are set to be filed against the suspects before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
