TWO men on a motorcycle yielded around a kilo of dried marijuana leaves during an anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by police Sunday before dawn in Makati City.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said elements of the Makati-Palanan Police Sub-Station led by P/Lt. Jover Borja were conducting “Oplan-Sita” along Bautista St., Brgy. Palanan at around 12:25 a.m. when they spotted Tyrone James Del Valle and Ronaldo Querubin, Jr., both 23 years old, riding on an unregistered motorcycle.

When lawmen flagged down the two and asked Del Valle, who was driving the motorcycle for his driver’s license, a glass tube-pipe with suspected marijuana residue accidentally came out from his coin purse prompting them to frisk the two.

Police recovered from Querubin’s backpack an elongated pack of suspected dried marijuana leaves with partial opening at the end.

The suspects were turned over by Lt. Borja to the office of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) for proper disposition while the evidence recovered were brought to SPD Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.

“Binabati ko ang pamunuan ng Makati City Police Station sa isang matagumpay na police operation. Ito ay nagpapakita na ang ating mga kapulisan sa lansangan ay aktibo sa pagsupil sa anumang illegal sa ating nasasatakupan. Tuloy tuloy lng po ang ating police operstions nang sa gayon ang anumang krimen sa ating lugar ay masugpo at mapanagot ang mga gumagawa nito,” Macaraeg said.
