NGAYON pa lang, may ilang kampo nang kinukumpara si Donny Pangilinan sa bagong Star Magic artist na si Robbie Jaworksi. Katwiran nila, parehong guwapo ang dalawang binata, matangkad, may pagka-Inglesero, well-educated at mula sa pamilya ng showbiz celebs.

As we all know, si Donny ay anak nina Maricel at Anthony Pangilinan at apo ng dating sikat na action star na si Tony Ferrer. Si Robbie naman, bukod sa pagiging anak nina Mikee at Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski, apo ng basketball legend na si Robert “Sonny” Jaworski.

Sa pormal na pagpapakilala sa 23-year-old Business Management graduate bilang bagong kapamilya ng Star Magic, ngiti lang ang isinagot ni Direk Lauren Dyogi sa obserbasyon na ito ng entertainment media.

“Kayo ang nagsabi n’yan, ha,” natatawa pang banggit ng Star Magic at TV Production head.

Ayon sa kanya, “Robbie fit to the values that we have in ABS-CBN. You know he’s very humble. With all the occasions that we’ve been together, hindi ko siya naramdaman na may ere siya o mayabang siya. He’s a very humble guy. That’s why he connects with a lot of people easily.”

Kwento ng manager ni Robbie na si Girlie Rodis, ang ABS-CBN exec na si Cory Vidanes ang “nanligaw” sa kanya para maging Kapamilya ang kanyang alaga.

Mensahe si GR sa ginanap na contract signing/mediacon, “I’m very happy that ABS-CBN, Star Magic has agreed to co-manage Robbie because I believe that they have the best platform for him and they’re not rushing him. They’re really allowing him to grow organically. And his parents are very supportive – his family is very supportive.”

True ang sinabi ng talent manager dahil present din sa launch sina Mikee at Dodot pati na ang kapatid ni Robbie na si Rafael, na ani GR, ay ginu-groom ding maging Star Magic artist.

Wish ni Mikee sa anak, “Robbie, may God bless your every endeavor and throughout everything you do, nandito kami para sa ’yo. We love you.”

Samantala, nang tanungin ang 23-year-old new screen heartthrob kung paano siya naiiba sa mga kamag-anak niyang celebrity, sey niya, “My famous relatives set themselves apart from others in their own way, and ‘yung sa akin, hindi ko po masyadong hinahambing ang sarili ko sa mga kamag-anak ko. I just see that they have provided me with an example, and I can choose to follow it in my own way or I can choose to go by a separate way.

“And right now I’m just excited to explore and discover myself more because I’m not my father, I’m not my lolo, I’m me. So that is something I am excited to explore and I’m confident na I’ll figure out,” dagdag pa ni Robbie.

Anyway, kasabay ng contract signing ay inanunsiyo rin ang pagiging Bench endorser ng binata at pagiging isa sa bagong MYX VJs. Katunayan, siya ang nag-present ng Mellow Video of the Year award sa katatapos na MYX Music Awards 2024.
