“Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, CG Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan, has lauded Auxiliary Commander (CDR) Gerald Anderson for his heroic acts amid the onslaught of Super Typhoon Carina in the National Capital Region (NCR),” ang nakasaad sa caption.

“CG Admiral Gavan commended Auxiliary CDR Anderson for his selfless service of rescuing trapped residents amid massive flooding at Barangay Santo Domingo, Quezon City,” it said.

Nakasaad din dito ang mga naging pagtulong ni Gerald in the past sa mga relief operations ng PCG.

“He is always present during the Coast Guard’s relief operations and disaster rehabilitation. He continues to help Aetas in Zambales, recovering families in Marawi, and even donated medical supplies and tents during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Together with Auxiliary Ensign Julia Barretto and other PCGA members, Auxiliary CDR Anderson also donated bags filled with school supplies for the children of Pag-Asa Island,” pahayag ng PCG Spokesperson, CG Rear Admiral Armando Balilo.

Sey naman ni Gerald sa panayam ng ABS-CBN, “Thankful ako sa Coast Guard na they recognized ‘yung efforts ko, but I share this award with other rescuers, sa other volunteers, lahat ng nag-donate para makatulong din sa iba.”
