Jolo Revilla, Chuas take oath of office in Cavite

CAVITE CITY – Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. inaugurated the swearing-in of his son Congressman Ramon “Jolo” Revilla III as the representative of Cavite’s first district.

Among those sworn in were Cavite City Mayor Denver Chua, Vice Mayor Raleigh Rusit, and the elected Cavite City councilors held at the San Sebastian Gymnasium Cañacao Campus in Cavite City, on June 25, 2022.

Cong. Jolo Revilla said, “My success as the newly elected Congressman of the First District is a victory for all of us! Every sacrifice and diligence we made during the previous campaign has paid off. I would not be here in front of you today if it were not for you. So well, thank you very much!”

“Every Caviteño has been close to my heart. Since I became captain until the end of my three terms as Vice Governor, my love for every Caviteño has deepened. My desires and goals to improve the country have deepened… our province, especially the 1st District. So, just now, I want to let you know, the ‘change’ in our district is here!” said Jolo.

Continuing his statement, he stressed the “strength of the force that will deliver service to ‘district one’ due to the combined forces of the mayors and the newly elected congressman.”

“There is a big challenge ahead of me. Many are watching over what we will do. But with the help of the collective unity of all the mayors of 1st District, Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo of Kawit, Mayor Dino Chua of Noveleta, Mayor Voltaire Ricafrente of Rosario, and Mayor Denver Chua of Cavite City, we can do it all,” added Jolo.

Attending the oath-taking ceremony were Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla, Bacoor City Congresswoman-elect Lani Mercado-Revilla, mayors, vice mayor of the first district, family, friends, supporters and staff.

Meanwhile, Cavite City Mayor-elect Denver Chua surprised his longtime partner Atty. Dani Doria by proposing to be the wife of the local chief executive during his speech after the formal oath-taking.

Sen. Bong Revilla Jr. administered the oath of office of Dino Chua and his eight winning councilors namely Kate Bernal, Emi Lontoc, Donn Alvarez, Edwin Salud, Ronel Lamit, Ricky Saria, Dave Manalo, and Renz Reyes.

Chua “vow to continue all the projects for the people of Noveleta” – including the Bypass Road project and flood control project, with the help of incoming 1st District Cong. Jolo Revilla.

“We will be pushing to [procure] a recycling machine, to [reduce] the trash collected, and making hollow blocks and [create] fertilizer for the zero-waste program,” the Noveleta mayor said in an interview.

For the health program, Mayor Dino said, “we will provide [a] pandemic package for relief, stimulus package, especially for poor constituents, and also we will upgrade our municipal hospital facilities for them not to go far for medical attention.”

Chua also said he will encourage more local businesses to invest in Noveleta and host monthly job fairs for residents.
