‘Jobless’ man yields P197K shabu

A 41-YEAR-OLD suspected drug pusher was nabbed after the police operatives seized P197,000 worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Monday, June 20, 2022.

Acting Provincial Director Police Colonel Cecilio Ramos Ison Jr. reported to Calabarzon (Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Antonio Yarra the captured suspect from Bgy. Sto. Angel Sur, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Santa Cruz Police Chief P/Lt. Col. Paterno L. Domondon Jr., said that the drug suspect was nabbed at 9:00 p.m. after he sold the illegal drugs to a police officer who acted as a poseur buyer in exchange for P1,000.

Confiscated were nine plastic sachets of shabu with an estimated weight of 29 grams valued at P197,200, a pouch, and recovered buy-bust money.

The arrested suspect was listed on the watchlist of “Street Level Individual” (SLI) drug personalities.

The suspect is currently in the custody of Santa Cruz Police and will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The seized evidence will be submitted to the Laguna Provincial Forensic Unit for forensic examination.

P/Brig. Gen. Yarra said, “I commend Santa Cruz police for this operation. We continue to intensify our anti-illegal drug operations to control the proliferation of dangerous drugs in our area of responsibility.”
