Jennica finds playing villain harder than protagonist
JENNICA Garcia attended the zoom presscon of “Las Hermanas”, her comeback show after she split with Alwyn Uytingco, her husband of 7 years. She confesses doing the show was difficult for her.
“Unang-una, lock-in taping kami at first time kong nalayo sa two daughters ko,” she says. “Tapos, first time kong gumanap na contravida kasi 7 years akong tumigil sa acting and the role is very new for me. Now ko lang na-realize na mahirap palang mag-contravida kaysa ‘yung underdog ka.”
Who is the character she plays in “Las Hermanas”? “I am Brenda in the show, villain kay Yasmien Kurdi. Si Jason Abalos, ex-boyfriend ko, e si Yasmien na ang gusto niya kaya galit ako kay Yasmien. Brenda is so different from me and my real personality. Loud kasi siya, maldita, high strung. E, sanay ako na dati, akong inaapi. Iniisip ko na lang na kailangan ko talagang paghusayan and I have to really assume her kind of personality to be effective in the role of Brenda.”
There’s news that she and Alwyn have reconciled. How true is this?
“Yes, Alwyn and I are talking again, we’re working on our marriage kung puwedeng magbalikan. I am very thankful to Jesus because I was looking for a breakthrough and He heard my prayers. He gave me what I was hoping for. Alwyn has expressed his desire for the restoration of our family. ‘Yun na lang muna ang ise-share ko. Kinakabahan ako kapag pinag-uusapan kami sa social media, so I don’t want to talk about it at length muna, Just pray for us and our family.”
Her fear is not unfounded because as early us now, there are negative reactions against her for forgiving Alwyn. As a netizen said: “Wala siyang kadala-dala. Matuto na siya kay Kylie Padilla. Pinatawad si Aljur, pero ano nangyari? Nagkabalikan then nagkahiwalay rin uli.”
Well, obviously that netizen is not in favor of forgiving erring husbands. Jennica and Alwyn got married in February, 2014, and they had two daughters. They confirmed that they’ve split up in May of this year. Alwyn has asked Jennica’s forgiveness, so let’s just be positive for their family and pray that Jennica’s giving Alwyn a second chance is all for the best for the sake of their children.
