AFTER four days, the Japanese national claimed the white envelope he left at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Terminal 1 Immigration Arrival table, according to NAIA-Airport Police Department.

The airport police said that the Japanese national, Tatsuya Maeda from Osaka, Japan, could not describe his excitement and sigh of relief upon claiming and counting the P25,500 cash and the other important papers in the envelope he left behind last Friday, August 5 at the Immigration, arrival area.

NAIA T1-APD, Lost and Found said that after reviewing the CCTV (closed-circuit television) footage and cross-checking the information, they immediately called and e-mailed Maeda and informed him that his lost envelope with cash and papers was in the office of NAIA-APD-LF and he may claim it anytime.

Apparently, when Maeda received the call and e-mailed, he was busy visiting tourist spots in the country with his travel group.

“Kaya daw Monday na daw siya nakapunta sa NAIA-APD-LF para claim yung envelope,” said NAIA-APD-LF.

A janitor, Nelson Palo, found the white envelope containing cash and important documents while cleaning the Immigration arrival area on August 5, 2022.

Quickly without hesitation, Palo went straight to the NAIA T1 Airport Police Lost and Found Office and turned over the envelope.

NAIA Authority highly commended Palo for his deeds and honesty.
