Jaen mayor offers P100K reward for arrest of village chair’s killers
JAEN, Nueva Ecija – Mayor Sylvia C. Austria yesterday offered a P100,000 bounty for the arrest of the killers of her nephew, barangay captain Mark Vic “Mac” Pascual.
Pascual, 41, of Bgy. Don Mariano Marcos, was talking to barangay tanods when gunned down by car-riding assassins in front of the gate of his house at 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday.
Austria said Pascual was a former barangay kagawad, who ran unopposed as barangay chairman during the 2023 barangay polls.
“Mabait siya, marami siyang kaibigan, marami siyang kaalyado at mahusay siyang makisama,” said the mayor in describing the slain official.
Austria urged the Nueva Ecija police under provincial police director Col. Ferdinand D. Germino to give top priority in immediately solving Pascual’s case.
It was learned that at least 70 additional police personnel for police visibility have been deployed to conduct checkpoints in the town’s strategic areas.
