BLACKWATER Bossing snapped their four-game losing streak with a solid 96-86 win over Terrafirma Dyip in the battle between the two tailenders in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate, Manila.

Former NBA player George King finished with 26 points on 9-of-30 shooting from the floor, on top of 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals in 37 minutes of action for the Jeff Cariaso-mentored Bossing, who kept their flickering quarterfinal hopes alive with a 2-7 win-loss record in the mid-season conference.

Justin Chua and Mike Ayonayon ably supported King with 17 and 15 points, respectively.

Chua, who earned “Best Player of the Game” honor, also added 12 rebounds

Frederick Tungcab also stepped up with 11 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Brandon Edwards tallied 29 points on a moxest 12-of-16 shooting, and added 16 rebounds in 44 minutes of action.

Louie Sangalang added 17 points and seven rebounds while Brent Paraiso contributed 12 points for the coach Raymund Tiongco-mentored Dyip, who remained winless in 10 games and out of contention in the playoffs.

Stanley Pringle and Mark Nonoy contributed nine points each while Kevin Ferrer chipped in seven points.

The game was close, with the Dyip even leading by four points, 49-45 at halftime.

Blackwater, however, turned the game around with a solid offensive effort in the second half.

The Bossing outscored the Dyip, 26-18, in the third period and 25-19 in the fourth quarter to win oulling away.

The Bossing also had seven more assists, 21-14.

“We feel like there has to be focus and we always talked about our defense because that in itself will generate our offense and get us into what we want to do,”said Cariaso.
