GAPAN CITY – Two unidentified robbers struck at a local shop of a known internet service provider (ISP) on Monday here.

The suspects robbed at gunpoint the employees of Converge Business Center office located in Bgy. Sto. Niño before carting away more than P100,000 in cash, five mobile phones, a laptop computer, and a digital video recording machine of the firm’s CCTV system.

Police identified the four robbed employees as Renz Roby Igaya, 28, supervisor, Olive Angielyn Abesamis, 26, both of Bgy. San Nicolas, Gapan City; Nelson De Guzman, 32, of Bgy. Bayanihan, Gapan City; and Molie Garcia, 30, of Bgy. Rizal, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija.

City police head Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito said the two suspects entered the shop at 6 p.m. and pretended as customers before pointing a gun to the four employees inside and declaring a hold-up.

After dragging the victims inside the storage room, one of the suspects fired his gun once to force the supervisor to open the vault.

After taking the money from the vault and divesting the employees of their cash and valuables worth a total of P108,000, the suspects hogtied them using plastic straps.

Desamito said the suspects fled on board a red Toyota Vios sedan going in the direction of San Isidro town.

Probers said operatives deployed at a checkpoint at the Poblacion area in Bgy. San Vicente assisted in the hot pursuit operations against the suspects but to no avail.

Police are now looking at CCTV footages in nearby areas for possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
