Isko on Comelec hacking
MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno is joining calls for the Commisson on Elections (Comelec) to re-affirm its commitment to clean and credible 2022 elections, amid reports that its system had been hacked.
Moreno stated the importance of Comelec sharing to the public what it is doing or going to do about the said report, noting that based on the report, a group of hackers have stolen from the poll body’s servers sensitive and highly-confidential information related to the upcoming elections.
The mayor, who is running for president under the party Aksyon Demokratiko, said he is concentrating on addressing the infection surge in the city of Manila.
“Bayaan mo na muna ‘yang kampanya, sa kanila na ‘yan. Tutal, destiny yan. Pag mangyayari, mangyayari,” Moreno said.
The mayor believes the Omicron variant is currently sweeping the nation. He is sleeping in his office while addressing the problems hands-on, along with Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna.
Lacuna also makes herself readily available for any resolution or ordinance that needs to be passed by the Manila City Council which she heads as its Presiding Officer, since there are some administration measures that require the council nod so they can be executed immediately.
