THE city government of Manila has exceeded its 100 percent mark in its targeted population eligible for vaccination against COVID-19, registering 132 percent for those vaccinated with first dose and 122 percent for the second dose.

Thus said Manila Mayor and Aksyon Demokratiko presidential bet Isko Moreno, as he explained that their figures have exceeded 100 percent with the inclusion of non-Manilans who have trooped to the city to get jabbed.

The mayor said the city’s mass vaccination program, which is being spearheaded by Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, has gone beyond what is required by the national government which is 70 percent of Manila’s population.

“Everybody is still welcome in Manila through our continuing‘open policy.’ We were able to vaccinate even those from neighboring cities who went to Manila. Nagpapasalamat ako sa kanilang pagtitiwala sa Maynila at masaya kami na kayo ay paglingkuran,” Moreno said.

He added that as per the records of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the total number of eligible for shots aged 18 or older is 1,065,149 while as per Department of Health, it is 1,351,487.

Citing the latest report from Lacuna, Moreno stated that as of November 15, 2021, a total number of 2,713,815 vaccines have been administered in Manila. In total, 1,459,426 individuals have been vaccinated with first dose while 1,293, 201 have so far been fully vaccinated.

Lacuna said in the case of minors, a total of 111,147 have pre-registered for the mass vaccination program. So far, 56,830 total doses have been administered for minors belonging to the general population of 12 to 17 years old.

Moreno and Lacuna said they are happy with the turnout of vaccines in Manila, an indication that their “Vaccine Nation is the Solution” campaign is very effective.
