Mayor Isko expressed his gratitude to the DOH (Department of Health) and the national government for releasing the allowance of 4,825 medical frontliners of the six city-run hospitals and City Health Office from January 1 to 31, 2022.

With a total of 4,825 medical frontliners, P2,119,000 was allotted for 239 medical workers in Ospital ng Tondo; P5,189,437.50 for 664 health workers in the Gat. Mayor Isko said the fight against the dreaded disease in Manila will not be achieved, and more people will not be saved from COVID-19 infection if not for the bravery and sacrifices shown by medical frontliners.

The DOH earlier announced that the OCA shall be provided to all health workers involved in COVID-19 response in line with the National Action Plan COVID-19 strategy of Prevention, Detection, Isolation, Treatment, Rehabilitation, and Vaccination (PDITR).

Under the program initiated by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, medical frontliners will receive, depending on their level of COVID-19 exposure, which is classified into three categories: low risk, moderate risk, and high risk.

Frontliners identified as high risk, including those directly catering to infected patients, shall receive P9,000 a month, while those under the moderate risk and the low-risk categories are entitled to a monthly allowance of P6,000 and P3,000 respectively. By Edd Reyes
