MAYOR Isko Moreno said that keeping the city of Manila clean at all times must be a shared responsibility between the local government and the residents.

Moreno assured that operations in the city continue to be normal, with special emphasis on keeping all nooks and crannies clean and garbage-free.

The Department of Public Services (DPS) under its chief Kenneth Amurao and the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) headed by Arnel Angeles have been commended by Moreno for their continued cleanup operations.

The DPS, according to Moreno, collected a huge amount of garbage and debris from the entire stretch of the Northbay Bridge from Juan Luna Street to Tayuman Street and on Justice Abad Santos Avenue.

Angeles personally supervised flushing operations done by the MDRRMO personnel in the vicinities of Recto and Divisoria.

“Muli, tayo ay nagpapasalamat sa mga kawani ng DPS at MDRRMO sa matiyaga nilang paglilinis sa iba’t -ibang sulok ng ating lungsod. Huwag rin po nating kalimutan na bawat isa sa atin ay may responsibilidad na panatilihing maayos ang Maynila,” the mayor stressed.

Moreno said he is appealing to the residents to do their share in keeping their own city clean at all times, by disposing of their garbage properly and maintaining cleanliness in and outside their homes.
