IN line with the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., outgoing Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso has declared June 30, 2022, Thursday, a special non-working holiday in the City of Manila.

Mayor Isko signed Executive Order (EO) No. 53, declaring a non-working holiday in the City of Manila on June 30 to ensure participants’ safety, security, and protection in the momentous event.

The order also stated that various thoroughfares in and around the perimeter of the inaugural venue located at the National Museum of the Philippines along Padre Burgos Avenue, Ermita, will be closed to traffic, which will affect, not only motorists but the riding public as well.

“It is but fitting that all citizens of the country, in general, and residents of the City of Manila, in particular, be given [the] opportunity to witness and welcome this significant event in the life of the nation,” Mayor Isko said in his Executive Order.

On his Facebook page, the mayor ordered the Manila Police District (MPD), led by P/Brig. Gen. Leo “Paco” Francisco and all law enforcement officers to strictly adopt and implement security measures on the date of the inauguration of the incoming President.
