IMUS CITY, Cavite – The local health office here is set to hold “Chikiting Bakunation Days” every last Thursday and Friday of the month beginning this April 2022.

The “Chikiting Bakunation Days” – with the local health department under Dr. Ferdie Mina will administer vaccines against polio, measles, hepatitis B, pneumonia, and other vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) on April 28-29; May 26-27; and June 23-24, 2022.

With the help of Imus City Mayor and Bukold Filipino Party-list 1st nominee Emmanuel Maliksi, Dr. Ferdie Mina said, “We can ensure that vaccines are available, sufficient, and accessible to our local health facilities and barangays.”

“Temporarily, no Covid vaccination on those days to give way to Chikiting Vaccination Days and also same persons will do, our nurses, midwives, and barangay health workers will roam around the 97 local villages here,” Dr. Mina added.

“Actually during [the] hard lockdown lang naman ito natigil eh, pero kapag nagluwag naman ang Alert Level ay nagpapatuloy ang mga mga bakuna ng mga bata every Wednesdays sa mga health centers, kaya nga lang, takot ang mga nanay sa Covid kaya ‘di rin nila nadadala ang mga babies kahit open ang mga health centers,” Dr. Mina pointed out.

“Our vaccination team in the communities in our city delivers catch-up immunization to infants ages 0-23 months. At the same time, on the aforementioned days, our #BidaAngMayBakuna COVID-19 vaccination will be temporarily stopped at the health centers of Velarde, Plaridel, and Greengate to make way for the program. COVID-19 vaccinations for the general population and pediatric population can still be done on Mondays and Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays,” said Dr. Mina.
