The long arm of the law has finally caught up with two American fugitives after they were recently arrested by Bureau of Immigration (BI) agents on separate occasions.

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco identified them as Teresita Kindle, 57, and Virgilio Carigma Cruz, 67, who were separately arrested by operatives of the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU).

Kindle was arrested in Little Baguio, San Juan City, while Cruz was apprehended in Bgy. San Pedro, Morong, Rizal.

Their arrest stemmed from a request for assistance from the United States government which sought the duo’s deportation.

“They will be deported and placed in our bureau’s blacklist of undesirable aliens, thus they are perpetually banned from re-entering the Philippines,” Tansingco said in a statement.

Tansingco added that the Americans are already considered undesirable aliens inasmuch as their passports were either revoked by the State Department or have already expired.

For his part, Rendell Ryan Sy, BI-FSU acting chief, disclosed that Kindle is facing charges before the US district court in Florida for multiple counts of wire fraud and money laundering.

On the other hand, Cruz has a pending arrest warrant issued against him by the superior court of New Jersey in 2018 following his indictment for illegal drugs.

The two are currently detained at the BI detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City while awaiting deportation.
