AGENTS of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) this week arrested a Southern Mindanao policeman wanted for a murder case, PNP-IMEG director, Brigadier General Warren F. de Leon said on Saturday.

The official identified the suspect was arrested inside the Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 headquarters in Camp Quintin Merecido in Buhangin, Davao City.

De Leon said that members of the IMEG Mindanao Field Unit led by Master Sergeant Dennis Laganson placed the suspect under arrest past 12 a.m. last Wednesday on the strength of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Marivic Daray of the Digos City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 18.

The IMEG officers were assisted by operatives from the Regional Intelligence Unit 11 and the Magsaysay Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Davao del Sur in serving the warrant of arrest against the accused, who is facing a non-bailable offense.

De Leon said that the arrest of the wanted policeman is part of their effort to account for all police personnel-active, retired, or dismissed who are the subject of pending warrants of arrest for different criminal offenses as ordered by PNP Chief Gen. Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr.

The accused policeman was brought to the Magsaysay MPS pending his presentation to the court, said the PNP-IMEG director.
